Comet Peak Art

This page is dedicated to a series of Comet ads using the artwork of Robert Peak. You may not have heard of Mr Peak but I can guarantee that you have seen his work. He is known as the father of the modern movie poster.

Here are a few of the posters he did, to name a few - Apocalypse Now, Black Stallion, Camelot, Every Which Way But Loose, Every Which Way You Can, Excalibur, Funny Girl, Hair, In Like Flint, My Fair Lady, Our Man Flint, Pennies From Heaven, Reds, Rollerball, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Kahn, Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek: VI: The Undiscovered Country, Superman The Movie, The Birdman of Alcatraz, The Dark Crystal, The Voyage, The Wanderer, The Wiz, The Year of Living Dangerously, and West Side Story.

Below you will find 6 1961 Comet ads, all with original art work of Robert Peck. Each is a Comet in a different scene. My particular favorite is the red Comet reflecting in the wet street.
